i made a mug.

For an extra project/choice project I made a paintbrush holder for my friend Brooke Bonner:) Its form is curvy, like a behive. It is glazed half dark blue, half turqoise, with metallic brown in the inside.

This project uses shape and form to come together and make a jar.
This jar is 4 1/2" wide and 3" tall. It is largest in the middle and comes towards the center at the top with a slight upward lip for the lid to sit on. There are no surface details. The entire project including the lid is glazed in blue.
The jar and lid fit perfectly together to make my personal cookie jar:)

These plates use thickness and shape to become steady and even.
One plate is a diameter of 7" and the other is a diameter of 7 1/2". They are completely round with a lip sticking up and slightly outwards. I glazed the plates with turqoise but it turned out more of a light blue.

The wheel altered project uses size, form and  color to become simple and not busy.
This wheel altered project is 3" tall by 2" wide. The surface is twisted in the middle of the cylinder at four spots. I dipped the entire project in dark green, including the twists.
The dark green glaze being solid downplays the twists so they don't appear as extreme.

My set of three use glazes and shape to link them together.
One bowl is 2x4, the other is 2x3, and the last is 3x5. One has a small outward lip and the others have no lips. There is no surface decoration except for the one lip and the foots. One is glazed in dark blue and sand, the other glazed in italian straw and sand, and the other glazed in solid sand.
The glazes I used play through each other and are made to be a set of three.

Using the outward shape of a bowl, I made my wide form.
This bowl is 5" wide and 3" tall. It is round in shape and gets wider as it goes up with an outward lip. There are no surface details to my bowl except the foot and lip. The glaze was solid shadow green.
The glaze shadow green made the bowl appear smaller since it is a darker glaze.

In this ceramics project, I used color to separate the surface detail.
This tall form is 3" tall and 2" wide. It is a tall cylinder that goes slightly inwards as it goes up. The surface has a spiral indent running up the cylinder, along with a handle to make it a cup. It is glazed with turquoise matt in the spiral and dark blue for the rest of the cup which makes the indent easier to see.
The glazes of my cup are color coordinated so it is pleasing to the eye (not busy).

Just figured out this is where I post things to get graded....whoops.
